Species: Plumatella repens (Linnaeus, 1758) Bryozoa Preparation Type: whole mount Prepared: K.V. Shunklina Description: Total preparation of a Plumatella repens zooid, stained with FMRFamide antibody and phalloidin. Method: F-actin in muscle fibers (Phalloidin), FMRFamide Method Description: The staining method and protocol are described in detail in: Shunkina, K. V., Zaytseva, O. V., Starunov, V. Description: Plumatella repens. Visceral and peripheral nervous systems at the base of the lophophore and in the wall of the cystide stained with antibodies to FMRFamide. The series shows that the majority of nerve fibers run within the intestinal wall and the wall of the cystide parallel to the apico-basal axis of the zooid. The preparations stained with phalloidin show the differences in muscle arrangement in different regions of the zooid and in orientation of muscle fibers in the walls of the cystide and intestine. Organs: neural tract, peripheral nervous system, visceral nervous system Methods: Histochemistry - F-actin in muscle fibers (Phalloidin), |
