A frontal section through a hemisphere of the telencephalon. Pallium. The image shows a neuron with numerous dendrite (d) and axon (ax) branches. Note the rich mesh of axon collaterals (axc) and the absence of spines on dendrites. According to the classification of E. Ramon-Molinera, such neurons belong to the group of highly specialized idiodendritic cells. Their occurrence justifies high level of the neuron organization of the brain in corvids. |
