Classification and number of species within families of Coleoptera of the fauna of Russia

The database in DBF format includes information on systematics and number of species within 136 families of beetles. It is the oldest database in ZIN, which unique owing to a number participants. The database was elaborated with use of the checklist of Coleoptera of Palaearctic, which placed at the site "Beetles and Coleopterists" of ZIN, where the points of view of different Russian systematics are concentrated. The rough estimates of number of species for each family in Russia have been gathered at the database more than 8 years, and now include published and expert data by more than 50 coleopterists. Following information about beetles in the present system ZI will distribute among the different families and will call up from the present database.


 

THE FAMILIES OF COLEOPTERA OF RUSSIA
The clasification of beetles of Russia is a result of A.L. Lobanov's adaptation of the famous World classification (Lawrence, Newton, 1995) with some later classifications (Kryzhanovsky, 1976, 1983; Crowson, 1981; Kirejtshuk, 2001), and personal proposals from the well known coleopterists of the Former USSR: A.G. Kirejtshuk, V.O. Kozminykh, B.A. Korotyaev, O.L. Kryzhanovsky, S.A. Kurbatov, G.Sh. Lafer, G.S. Medvedev, N.B. Nikitsky, S.E. Tshernyshev, A.G. Shatrovsky.
Bold type is an estimated number of species in Russia.
