Colored Atlas of the Reptiles of the North Eurasia (taxonomic diversity, distribution, conservation status)
[in Russian with English preface]
Zoological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences. Saint-Petersburg, Russia. 2004. 232 pp. 510 ill. ISBN 5-98092-007-2
Colored Atlas of the Reptiles of the North Eurasia (taxonomic diversity, distribution, conservation status) presents
uptodate information on all species and subspecies of turtles (7 species), lizards (112 species) and snakes (74 species)
inhabiting the territories of the former Soviet Union and Mongolia. Detailed geographic distribution information, with
schematic maps, data on type localities and conservation status (IUCN and regional Red lists, CITES) are included in each
species account. The present Atlas can be used as illustrated reference manual of the reptiles of North Eurasia.

Phylogeography and intraspecies structure of wide distributed sand lizard, Lacerta agilis L. 1758
(Lacertidae, Sauria, Reptilia) (case study of mitochondrial cytochrome b gene) [in Russian with English summary]
Zoological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences. Saint-Petersburg, Russia. 2004. 108 pp. ISSN 0206-0477
This book represents the results of a study on phylogeography and intraspecies structure of the sand lizard, Lacerta agilis
based on modern molecular techniques – amplification and sequencing of the gene encoding the mitochondrial cytochrome b
protein. A molecular approach, which has not been applied before for this species is used together with traditional morphological
and biogeographical methods.
Subspecies differentiation and phylogeographic hypothesis were generated from the analysis of an 897 bp fragment of the mitochondrial
cytochrome b gene from 194 individuals from 156 different populations of all subspecies. Monophyly of the sand lizard comparison
of molecular and morphological data, history of the species and taxonomical interpretations of the results are discussed.

Russian Journal of Herpetology, 13 (Supplement), St. Petersburg. 2006. 140 pp. ISSN 1026-2296.
This book presents eleven new contributions on turtle paleontology, phylogeny and evolution.
Most of these were presented as reports at the Symposium on Turtle Origins, Evolution, and
Systematics (August 18 – 20, 2003, St. Petersburg, Russia).
This volume is named Fossil Turtle Research in order to evoke the popular
Fossil Turtle Newsletter,
an annual collection of fossil turtle citations compiled by Walter Joyce and James Parham.
