Discovery of a New Trechodine (Coleoptera, Trechinae) in the Russian Far East

Abstract.
A new genus and new species of trechodine trechid beetle is described from the
southern part of the Sikhote-Alin Mountains in the Russian Far East, under the name of
Eotrechodes larisae. It is closely similar to Thalassophilus WOLLASTON distributed over Europe
and the Macaronesian islands, though its true affinity is not certain. Eotrechodes is the first
representative of the subtribe Trechodina in East Asia north of 30-N.
