FLEAS: Search Interface

This database comprises 3846 records of fleas taxa of the World including 2328 species names 1983 of which are accepted (valid) names (the detailed description of this database see: Medvedev, Lobanov, 1999 [Entomol. Rev., vol. 79, N 6: 654-665]).

Four fields may be used for requests; the search may be performed with each combination of these fields. Input into editboxes: taxonomic name, and/or author's name, and/or year of description, and/or choose a supposed taxonomic rank in the checkbox. If this information is unknown for you, input only a part of taxonomic name, author' name, or year of description. Press "Search" button. If there is no an answer to some complicated request, try to reduce the number of request elements. Logical "AND" is implied for all elements in the request. Please don't leave symbol of blank (space) in the unused frames.

For taxa of species rank input in the upper frame only one word (genus name or species epithet) or its part. For example: you want to find the information about Dasypsyllus gallinulae (Dale, 1878). Select in the CheckBox "Taxonomic rank" the line "All ranks". You may test the following variants of the request:

1) you input in the upper frame "Dasyp" -
      in the result of your request you get all 28 taxa of Dasypsyllus
      (from Genus to subspeicies ranks)
      including synonyms; among them you can find Dasypsyllus gallinulae.
2) you input in the upper frame "gal" -
      in the result of your request you get 16 taxa of various genera
      (from Genus to subspeicies ranks),
      which contains "gal" in any part of their names including synonyms;
      among them you can find Dasypsyllus gallinulae.
3) you input in the Author frame "Dale" -
      in the result of your request you get all 25 taxa of fleas
      described by Dale including synonyms;
      among them you can find Dasypsyllus gallinulae.
4) you input in the Year frame "187" -
      in the result of your request you get 27 taxa of fleas
      described in 1875, 1878, 1879 including synonyms;
      among them you can find Dasypsyllus gallinulae.
