Member of International Group on Study Marine Birds at the International Committee on Bird Preservation (from 1982).

The field of scientific interests:
Gulls: Systematic, morphology, ecology, behaviour and conservation.
Marine colonial birds: ecology, distribution, and numbers.
Took part in the XIV International Pacific Ocean Congress in Japan, 1979, and in the XVIII International Ornithological Congress in Moscow, 1982.
