On the genus Geitenomyia with description of a new species from Azerbaijan and Turkey (Diptera: Stratiomyidae)

Abstract. Geitenomyia rudifranci sp. n. from Azerbaijan and East Turkey, the second specieas of the genus, is described. The male of G. transsylvanica Kertész (from the Ukraine) and the male genitalia of Geitenomyia are described and figured for the first time. The taxonomic status of the genus is discussed. A key for identification of both species of Geitenomyia is given.
