On the taxonomic position of Vindilis fornicata Stål, 1870 (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Fulgoroidea: Issidae)

Abstract. The genus Vindilis Stål, 1870 is placed in the tribe Parahiraciini Cheng et Yang, 1991 based on the examination of photographs of the type specimen of its type species, Vindilis fornicata Stål, 1870. According to the hind wing structure and venation, V. fornicata is closely related to Nisoprincessa palawana Gnezdilov, 2017; both genera and species are known from the Philippines only.
